Trump Says Iran Talks Could Reopen at Some Point, a Day After Saying None Were Planned

U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that formal negotiations with Iran could reopen "maybe at some point," while adding that the "situation is so good" right now. Asked whether he would restart talks with Tehran, he said, "Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and they won't." Trump also claimed the United States controls the Strait of Hormuz apart from occasional Iranian drone launches, which he dismissed as nuisance value, and said a lot of boats passed through the waterway on Tuesday night. A day earlier he had said the United States has no talks planned with Iran.
