Jerusalem Completes Teddy Stadium Turf and Sensor Upgrades

Jerusalem Municipality said its Ariel municipal company completed upgrades to Teddy Stadium during rehabilitation after the Maccabiah opening ceremony. The hybrid pitch combines natural grass and synthetic fibers, while Israel’s first wireless root-zone sensor network continuously tracks moisture, temperature and salinity to guide irrigation and fertilization. Crews also installed mobile SGL lighting and heating systems, cold-weather heat sheets and UEFA-standard team-bench seats. Hapoel Jerusalem is scheduled to return October 12 against Maccabi Haifa, and Beitar Jerusalem October 19 against Maccabi Tel Aviv. A planned commercial boulevard below the north stand remains under construction.
