Liberman and Eisenkot Agree to Coordinate Opposition Campaign

Yisrael Beiteinu leader Avigdor Liberman and Yashar leader Gadi Eisenkot met privately Tuesday evening to discuss coordination in Israel's election campaign after days of public criticism between them. In a joint statement, their parties said they would continue cooperating and coordinate steps with other opposition parties ahead of the October election. People familiar with the conversation said the two also agreed to stop attacking each other and focus on expanding their bloc instead of competing over which party would be largest. The meeting came before a planned Saturday night discussion with Naftali Bennett and Yair Golan at opposition leader Yair Lapid's home.
