Iranian Source Says No U.S. Talks Until Washington Changes Course

An Iranian source close to Tehran's negotiating team said Saturday that Iran has not requested renewed talks with the United States and that no negotiations will take place unless Washington changes its current positions. The source said any future track depends on implementing prior understandings, including a Lebanon working group, Iran's preferred arrangements for Strait of Hormuz passage, and restoration of Iranian oil exports and normal oil flows. The report pushed back on claims that fresh talks were imminent, while regional coverage placed the dispute inside the U.S.-Israel-Iran war and the post-Hormuz escalation. It follows earlier U.S. pressure for a public Iranian shipping guarantee after alleged tanker attacks, keeping Lebanon, maritime access and sanctions relief in the same diplomatic basket.
