Britain Commits £250 Million and 500 Officers to Protect Jewish Communities

Britain committed more than £250 million over three years to protect Jewish communities after antisemitic attacks and a rise in the national terror threat level. The package will fund more than 500 additional officers across England and Wales, including about 300 in London and 80 in Greater Manchester, while strengthening counterterrorism capabilities. Officers will patrol Jewish neighborhoods and protect synagogues, schools and community centers; specialist and plainclothes deployments will also continue. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the investment would help Jewish communities live and celebrate their faith without fear.
