Netanyahu Directs Shin Bet to Ensure Adequate Security for Eisenkot

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed Shin Bet chief David Zini to ensure Yashar chairman Gadi Eisenkot receives security at an adequate level, as needed. The Shin Bet told Netanyahu that it is doing the maximum and acting according to law. Central Elections Committee chair Justice Noam Sohlberg said Zini reported there was no intelligence or warning of an intention to harm Eisenkot. Zini said the earlier decision not to assign Shin Bet protection was his and that he bore sole responsibility. The report did not say a dedicated detail had been assigned.
