Iran’s Economy Minister Says Tehran Is Ready for Sanctions, Warns of Counterattack

Iranian Economy and Finance Minister Ali Madanizadeh told state television that Tehran was fully prepared for new U.S. sanctions and had built a two-year economic plan for anticipated scenarios. He said Iran had tools of its own, knew how to “play the game,” and was no longer limiting itself to defensive responses, warning adversaries to expect a counterattack. Madanizadeh said China and Russia rejected the measures and predicted wider resistance. The U.S. campaign targets roughly 60 entities, people and vessels across digital assets, technology, gold, aviation and shipping.
