Six U.S. House Members Urge Backing for Israel-Cyprus-Greece Power Link

Six bipartisan U.S. House members asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. development-finance chief Benjamin Black to prioritize the Great Sea Interconnector. Their letter says the planned undersea cable would link the electricity grids of Israel, Cyprus and Greece, strengthening Israel's security of supply and enabling reliable bidirectional power flows. The lawmakers also requested a classified briefing on geopolitical obstacles to completion. The project website says the cable's Greece-Cyprus section is under construction and has received €657 million in European Union funding.
