IDF Buys Magos Drone-Detection Radars for Northern Front
Israeli defense-tech firm Magos Systems secured a roughly NIS 21 million deal to supply hundreds of compact radar systems for IDF ground forces facing Hezbollah's fast-evolving drone threat. Reports in Hebrew and English say the Rehovot system detects low-flying UAVs, including fiber-optic-guided drones that evade normal radio-frequency countermeasures, and can give troops at least 60 seconds of warning. Eight Magos radars have already entered IDF service, with the larger order following operational performance. The purchase is a practical Israeli answer to Iran-backed drone warfare: protect soldiers quickly, field local innovation and deny Hezbollah a cheap tactical surprise.
