Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich invited Yashar chairman Gadi Eisenkot to a meeting at his ministry after Eisenkot accused him of lying. Smotrich said he would explain how the Budget Law works, what fiscal frameworks are, and the legal route for exceeding and increasing the state budget. He criticized Eisenkot’s rhetoric as incompatible with calls for healing and said the information would serve him as a fighting opposition figure after the election. Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, Smotrich said he forgave Eisenkot wholeheartedly and wished him and his family a good year.
