Trump Says He Has No Regrets Over Iran War, Would Make Same Choice Again

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of President Donald Trump seated and speaking in a dark navy suit and red tie, framed by a U.S. flag and presidential-seal backdrop, drawn in warm ochre and slate-blue pastel with cross-hatching on sepia newsprint.

President Donald Trump told interviewer Laura Ingraham that he had no regrets about the war with Iran and would make the same decision again. Trump said U.S. operations had eliminated Iran's nuclear capability and argued that a nuclear-armed Tehran would have threatened Israel, the Middle East and American cities. He said Iran would have wiped out Israel and claimed Tehran wants Democrats to win the midterm elections because they would allow it to develop nuclear weapons. Trump repeated that Iran would not obtain a nuclear weapon and also cited the U.S. stock market's performance while acknowledging higher oil prices.
