Iranian Strike Damages A-10 and About Eight F-15s at Jordan Air Base

An Iranian ballistic missile struck Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, damaging U.S. aircraft stationed there. One A-10 Thunderbolt II suffered severe damage that left most of one wing missing, while about eight F-15E Strike Eagles sustained light damage and were returned to service. U.S. forces fired more than 30 Patriot interceptors during the attack, and no American personnel were killed. The aircraft assessment is a new disclosure about the impact of Iran’s ballistic-missile campaign on U.S. forces during the continuing regional conflict.
