Trump Says Iran War Will End Immediately After U.S. Midterms

President Donald Trump said the war with Iran would end immediately after the November 3 U.S. midterm elections, arguing that Tehran is prolonging the fighting to influence voters. Speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews before leaving for Dallas, he said Iran wants a weak political outcome that would leave it alone and allow it to pursue a nuclear weapon. Trump said negotiations remain possible, although Washington is not currently seeking them, and said any future agreement would address more than the nuclear issue. He also warned that additional U.S. strikes could follow.
