More than 100 U.S. military advisers are supporting Saudi Arabia's campaign against the Iran-backed Houthis, according to five sources cited in original reporting. One U.S. official put the presence at roughly 200 troops, who are assisting with intelligence, real-time targeting tools comparable to Maven, and geospatial targeting through a joint command established in recent weeks. The personnel are not conducting strikes, refueling Saudi aircraft or providing broader operational support. The Pentagon declined to discuss intelligence matters, while the Saudi Embassy did not provide a response.
