The Houthi-Saudi Front
Where it stands
The Iran-backed Houthis threatened Saudi airports, declared a maritime blockade on Saudi Arabia and claimed strikes on Saudi tankers and Aramco sites, as Saudi airstrikes hit Houthi-held Hodeidah. More than 100 US military advisers support the Saudi campaign, and Yemen's Rashad al-Alimi has called a general mobilization against the Houthis. On September 26, Saudi air defenses intercepted Houthi drones aimed at Riyadh and a ballistic missile fired toward Khamis Mushait.
