Saudi Arabia Seeks Air-Defense Help as Officials Report Interceptor Shortage

Two regional officials said Saudi Arabia was running low on missile interceptors and had asked France, Britain, Pakistan and Egypt to deploy air-defense support against Houthi and other Iran-backed attacks. Saudi officials did not comment on the reported requests. Britain cited its close defense partnership with Riyadh but declined to confirm an appeal, while a Pakistani official said Islamabad had received none. Saudi state media separately said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed regional security, stability and freedom of navigation in a Wednesday call.
