U.S. Embassy Warns of Wider Houthi Escalation and Urges Travel Contingency Plans

The U.S. Embassy Jerusalem issued an updated security alert urging Americans in the Middle East to plan for possible flight cancellations, airspace closures and disrupted travel. The embassy warned that Houthi hostilities could spread quickly beyond the immediate area. It said attacks by the Iranian-supported Houthis on Saudi civilian airports and other critical infrastructure had caused civilian casualties and severe travel disruption. Americans travelling to or from the region were advised to check airline and airport operations and arrange contingency plans in advance. The embassy said its Jerusalem and Tel Aviv consular sections remain open for routine and emergency services.
