Where it stands

The Knesset set 24 Tishrei as Israel’s remembrance day for the Hamas-led October 7 massacre. Herzog opened this year’s observance on October 5. October 7 brings planned ceremonies at Yarkon Park and Kiryat Malakhi and remembrance in Texas. The Foreign Ministry and October Council marked the anniversary; Herzog lit a candle at 06:29. Police saluted and laid wreaths at Sderot and other battle sites. Victims’ families led a convoy from Caesarea toward Tel Aviv, accompanied by towed vehicle frames.
