European Parliament President Roberta Metsola said on Tuesday that procedures were underway after an alleged flag incident at an exhibition in Strasbourg commemorating victims of Hamas's October 7 terrorist attack. She said an Israeli flag was thrown down and a fallen flagpole caused the EU flag to fall, while stressing the member's right to be heard. French MEP Rima Hassan disputed the account and denied touching the EU flag. Metsola rejected intimidation and property damage as substitutes for debate and said European Jewish communities must see Parliament as their home.
