IDF Southern Command chief Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asor warned Hamas on Tuesday evening that any attempt to attack soldiers or Negev residents would draw a firm and powerful response. Speaking at an October 7 commemoration in the Eshkol Regional Council, he acknowledged the military's failure to protect residents and said their trust had been broken. He praised residents who fought to save lives and defend their families and homes. Asor said the mission and recovery journey remained unfinished, pledging to keep weakening Hamas and to learn from mistakes, correct failures and rebuild residents' trust.
