Macklemore Dropped From Ed Sheeran Tour After ‘Free Palestine’ Performances

Concert promoter Messina Touring Group removed Macklemore from the remaining U.S. support dates on Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour after several venues said they would not host shows with the rapper on the lineup. Macklemore had used two September performances at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium to call for a ‘Free Palestine,’ perform ‘Hind's Hall’ and display Gaza imagery. The Israeli American Council petitioned Sheeran and tour organizers to remove him, calling the presentation a one-sided political use of a concert stage. Macklemore had been scheduled for eight of the tour's 10 remaining U.S. shows, beginning September 19 in Philadelphia.
