Thousands Gather at Hostages Square on 1,000th Day

At 20:38 IDT, thousands gathered at Tel Aviv's Hostages Square for a protest and memorial event marking 1,000 days since the Hamas-led October 7 invasion and massacre. The rally, which followed a bereaved-families march to the square renamed Memory Square, demanded a state commission of inquiry into the failures surrounding the attack. Former hostage Rom Braslavski spoke from the main stage, and Merav Svirsky and Einav Zangauker were among bereaved and hostage-family voices present. Israel's remembrance should honor victims, survivors and soldiers while keeping Hamas's guilt central and insisting the state learn every lesson.
