Gil Dickmann Ties Entebbe Memory to October 7 Inquiry Call
Times of Israel republished July 5, after Hebrew outlets covered the July 4 rally, that Gil Dickmann, cousin of Carmel Gat who was murdered in Hamas captivity, spoke at Habima Square in Tel Aviv during a protest marking 1,000 days since the October 7 massacre and demanding a state commission of inquiry. Dickmann challenged Prime Minister Netanyahu's claim that he returned all 255 hostages, noting that dozens were killed during or after abduction, and invoked the 50th anniversary of the Entebbe rescue in which Yoni Netanyahu fell. Israel owes the murdered, the rescued and the families both honor and accountability: national memory should strengthen the IDF, democratic oversight and the duty to bring Jews home.
