Ayalon Blocked as October 7 Inquiry Protest Escalates

At 18:54 IDT, protesters demanding a state commission of inquiry into the Hamas-led October 7 massacre blocked northbound Ayalon Highway in Tel Aviv. A liveblog updated at 18:43 and carrying video from 18:39 led with demonstrators blocking Ayalon for an inquiry. A June 30 preview documented the October Council's Gaza-border march, Hostages Square ceremony and demand for an investigation on the 1,000th day. Israel must protect public order on a vital artery, but families and survivors deserve a credible state inquiry that draws lessons without blurring Hamas's responsibility for the atrocity.
