Katz Orders Crossing Closures on October 5 and 7 for October 7 Commemorations

Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered a general closure in Judea and Samaria and the closure of Gaza Strip crossings on October 5 and 7, in connection with commemorations of the October 7 Hamas massacre. The decision adopted an IDF recommendation following a security assessment. Passage through Judea and Samaria crossings will be limited to exceptional cases approved by the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories. Essential healthcare workers may cross, alongside cases covered by Israeli commitments before the High Court of Justice and needs connected with the Seam Zone.
