COGAT Says Kerem Shalom Will Close for Yom Kippur on Sunday and Monday

Israel will close the Kerem Shalom crossing between Israel and Gaza on Sunday and Monday for Yom Kippur, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories announced. COGAT, a unit of Israel's Defense Ministry, said the crossings otherwise continue operating at a stable volume based on needs identified by the international community. The agency said hundreds of trucks carrying humanitarian aid enter Gaza each day. Its announcement did not describe any wider change to the crossing schedule beyond the two-day holiday closure.
