National Insurance Counts 87,286 Terror Victims Since October 7

National Insurance figures newly reported on Sunday list 87,286 people added to its terror-victim caseload since the October 7, 2023 massacre, most from that day and the rest from subsequent fighting. About 43,000 sought disability recognition, with roughly 40,000 recognized. Of those recognized, 34,878 had psychological injuries, 3,171 physical injuries and 2,355 both. The civilian death toll stood at 1,029, including 63 children and teenagers. The figures include foreign civilians but exclude security personnel and community defense teams, whose fatalities fall under the Defense Ministry.
