Herzog Salutes Police Officers for October 7 Bravery and Daily Service

President Isaac Herzog saluted Israel's police officers in a statement published Sunday, crediting them with being the first to arrive and engage on October 7 and saving many lives. He remembered the officers killed that day and said Sunday's police excellence ceremony honored officers from across the force. Herzog praised their persistence in examining evidence, checking circumstances and working beyond expectations to protect citizens. He thanked Commissioner Danny Levy, the police leadership and serving officers for their dedication, saying effective policing is essential to a functioning and flourishing state.
