IDF Reportedly Plans to Cut Reserve Deployments in Gaza-Border Communities

The IDF is reportedly preparing to significantly reduce reserve deployments in Gaza-border communities from October 29, releasing dozens of reservists. Under the reported plan, permanent reserve deployments would remain only in communities within four kilometers of the border. Communities farther away would rely on civilian security coordinators and emergency response squads without a permanent military presence. The report attributes the decision to the IDF Operations Division. Local security personnel expressed concern about reinforcement capacity amid limits on attached soldiers and reserve-service days.
