State Backs Kfar Aza Vote to Relocate October 7 Memorial Homes

Israel told the High Court that the fate of Kfar Aza's Young Generation neighborhood belongs to the kibbutz, saying forced preservation could harm residents' return and their trust in state institutions. Eleven neighborhood residents were murdered and seven were abducted during the Hamas-led October 7 massacre; bereaved families petitioned to preserve the homes in place. In coming weeks, the kibbutz plans a green fence, external access and a nearby visitor center while the court considers whether intervention is warranted.
