Election Authorities Coordinate Enforcement Against Improper Influence

Central Elections Committee chairman Justice Noam Sohlberg and acting director general Din Livne met Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, State Attorney Amit Aisman and their teams as part of preparations for the October 27 Knesset election. They discussed stronger enforcement against criminal violations of election law, the ban on blocking traffic routes on election day and legal responses to improper influence on voters. Baharav-Miara said law-enforcement bodies would work with the committee to ensure an equal and orderly vote. Sohlberg said firm enforcement was central to protecting every citizen's right to vote and be elected.
