Central Elections Committee chair Noam Sohlberg urged parties contesting the 26th Knesset election to give news organizations open and equal access to public campaign events. His letter covered press conferences, tours, campaign-headquarters coverage areas, primaries, election day and election night. Sohlberg said security, safety, capacity, privacy and operational limits may be imposed only through equal and proportionate criteria, and described the message as guidance for proper conduct rather than a legal ruling. The letter followed the exclusion of Channel 14 journalists from the Democrats' primary-results event.
