Police Officer Questioned Over Suspected Favoritism for Yoav Eliasi

The Police Internal Investigations Department questioned a chief inspector under caution on suspicion of breach of trust, saying he allegedly promoted rapper Yoav Eliasi's interests at a Tel Aviv entertainment venue. Investigators released the officer with conditions barring him from police facilities and contact with involved parties for 10 days; the inquiry remains open. Police Commissioner Danny Levy removed Eliasi last week from command of a Tel Aviv civilian emergency squad after reporting alleged he used police ties to avert closure of a club where he was a partner. Eliasi has denied intervening in club matters and said he voluntarily froze his police service.
