Oct. 7 Ceremony Fundraiser Tops NIS 700,000 in First Day
JPost reported at 20:04 IDT that the public campaign for the October 7 National Remembrance Ceremony had raised more than NIS 700,000 in its first day. The report said about 4,905 donors had covered over 38% of the NIS 2 million goal for the Yarkon Park ceremony, which KUMU and families of victims and hostages want to make the largest publicly funded memorial event in Israel's history. Official KUMU and Yonatan Shamriz posts urged Israelis to join and support the effort. Israel's national memory is strongest when bereaved families, captivity survivors and the public carry it together while keeping Hamas's responsibility clear.
