Houthis Claim Missile and Drone Strikes on Two Saudi Oil Tankers

The Iran-backed Houthis claimed they struck two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea with ballistic and cruise missiles and drones after accusing the vessels of violating the group's new maritime blockade. Military spokesman Yahya Saree identified the tankers as Encelia and Layla and said the operation caused large fires on both ships. The group also claimed roughly 10 other vessels were forced to turn back. The attack claims were not independently verified, while the blockade opens a second threat to regional oil shipping as Iran disrupts the Strait of Hormuz.
