Erdogan to Hold Trilateral Talks With Saudi Crown Prince and Pakistani PM

Turkey's presidency announced Thursday evening that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will make a one-day working visit to Saudi Arabia on Friday, August 7. The statement, issued by Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, said Erdogan is expected to meet Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Sharif landed in Jeddah earlier Thursday for a visit running through August 8, accompanied by Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. Pakistan has mediated between Washington and Tehran since their war began in February, while Iran holds de facto control of the Strait of Hormuz.
