Saudi-Led Coalition Says It Intercepted Houthi Missile Aimed at Riyadh

The Saudi-led Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen said its air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Iran-backed Houthis toward Riyadh early Friday, October 23. Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki announced the interception, which was reported shortly after 4 a.m. local time in Saudi Arabia. The coalition identified Yemen as the missile's launch origin and the Saudi capital as its intended destination. The interception account comes from the coalition and has not been independently verified by these reports.
