Mecca Pact Military Chiefs Meet in Riyadh, Vow Immediate Military Cooperation

The military chiefs of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye met in Riyadh on Friday under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, which the three countries signed last month and under which an attack on one is regarded as an attack on all. Saudi Chief of General Staff Gen. Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Pakistan's Field Marshal Asim Munir and Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Selcuk Bayraktaroglu condemned attacks by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis on the holy city of Mecca and on Saudi civil and economic infrastructure. They discussed intelligence cooperation, military coordination and capability integration, and pledged to begin translating the pact's commitments into effective military cooperation immediately.
