U.S. and Saudi Forces Strike Iran-Backed Targets in Iraq

U.S. Central Command and the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces carried out precision strikes in Iraq on July 28 against Iran-aligned terrorists directed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. U.S. and Saudi fighter aircraft hit multiple logistics and weapons sites across eastern Iraq after more than 30 IRGC-directed drone attacks in the previous 72 hours. The targets were linked to unsuccessful attacks on U.S. forces and attempts against Saudi energy infrastructure. CENTCOM said Iran-aligned militias had attempted more than 600 attacks on American citizens and facilities in Iraq from February through April 2026.
