Trump Vows Hard U.S. Strikes After Iran's Surprise Missile Attack

U.S. President Donald Trump said American forces will hit Iran hard after Tehran's overnight missile attack on U.S. assets in the region. He described the strike on forces in Jordan as a surprise attack that left troops only minutes to intercept the incoming missiles, and said Iran was going to get a beating. Trump said U.S.-Saudi strikes on Iran-backed militias in Iraq were coordinated with the Iraqi government. Despite the escalation, he said American negotiators would continue talks with Tehran and added that his White House meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu went very well.
