Houthi Official Threatens Wider Strikes and Tighter Saudi Blockade

Houthi political bureau member Hezam al-Asad threatened a broader escalation against Saudi Arabia, writing that the era of proportionate responses and balanced rules of engagement had ended. He said the blockade targeting Saudi Arabia would continue and expand for as long as what he called the siege of Yemen persisted. Al-Asad warned that every escalation would meet a still-greater response. His statement followed Houthi missile and drone attacks on Saudi Aramco sites and Saudi-led coalition strikes on Houthi military targets in Hodeidah, part of a renewed confrontation involving the Iran-backed movement.
