JFNA: Small Jewish Communities Need Stronger Security Support
The Jewish Federations of North America released a new analysis finding Jews in small North American communities want connection and safety but face geographic, structural and security gaps. JTA, Times of Israel and JPost report that 58% of Jews in small communities feel antisemitism concerns are invalidated, compared with 48% overall, and only 39% say local law enforcement takes antisemitism seriously, compared with 47% in larger communities. JFNA also says small-community Jews show lower engagement and belonging while still seeking stronger Jewish connection after October 7. For Israel and the Jewish people, this is a diaspora-security story: Jewish life everywhere needs infrastructure, allies and unapologetic support against antisemitism.
