Argentina Awards 3,900 km of Highways to Private Operators in Final Privatization Stage

Economy Minister Luis Caputo announced on August 21 that Argentina awarded Stage III of the Red Federal de Concesiones, transferring eight corridors totaling about 3,920 kilometers of national routes across 11 provinces to private toll operators. Resolution 1379/2026 formalized the award after 21 companies submitted 48 economic offers through the state Contrat.Ar platform. The 20-year concessions rely on fully private investment without state subsidies, with works set to begin in late September under Vialidad Nacional supervision. The stage completes a program of more than 9,000 kilometers carrying about 80 percent of national traffic; the contracts cover operation and maintenance rather than major new construction.
