Wolfson Medical Center in Holon awarded NIS 280,000, about $75,000, to nine clinical researchers before Rosh Hashanah. The funding comes from an endowment established by the late Dr. Dorian Powell and administered by the Friends of Wolfson Medical Center Association. The applied studies are designed to improve patient care within 12 months. Their subjects include pediatric asthma treatment, blood-clot prevention after Caesarean sections, cardiometabolic-risk reduction after pregnancy complications, cardiac imaging, predictive modeling for pacemaker implantation and glycemic control for hemodialysis patients.
