Court Raises Sentence to 7.5 Years for Man Who Stole Be'eri Residents' Cars After Oct. 7

The Beersheba District Court accepted the Southern District Prosecutor's Office appeal against the leniency of Guy Haddad's sentence and raised his prison term to 7.5 years. Haddad, 44, stole cars from Kibbutz Be'eri after the October 7 massacre, including vehicles belonging to massacre survivors and to released hostage Eli Sharabi, intending to sell them in the Palestinian Authority. Sharabi discovered that his car had been stolen only when he returned from captivity. The Magistrate's Court had originally sentenced Haddad to 5.5 years. He was convicted of conspiracy to commit a crime and five counts of vehicle theft committed jointly with others.
