Maccabi Haifa Amputee Team Wins Inaugural EAFF Conference League in Bucharest

Maccabi Haifa's amputee football team won the European Amputee Football Federation's first-ever Conference League on Friday, beating a Scottish side 4-0 in Bucharest in its last game when it needed only a draw. Ben Binyamin scored twice within five minutes, Aviran Ohana added a third, and Ben Maman completed the win deep in stoppage time with an assist from Yanir Cohen. The club had won its first two games, against Panathinaikos and hosts FCSB. Its squad includes amputees wounded during military service, Nova festival survivors and road-accident victims, and coach Sharon Paz was in tears at the final whistle.
