IDF Says It Killed Hamas Commander Hassan Siam, Who Held Amit Soussana and the Siegels

The IDF said on Friday that a strike in the Gaza City area on Wednesday killed Hassan Mahmoud Siam, a Hamas military-wing commander who infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre. According to the military, Siam was involved throughout the war in holding hostages Amit Soussana, Keith and Aviva Siegel, and Dafna Elyakim in Gaza. A separate strike in the Gaza City area on Tuesday killed Adham Sabhi Salim Ziara, another Hamas operative. The IDF said both men had advanced attacks on troops and civilians in systematic violation of the ceasefire, including shooting attacks on troops and planting explosives near the Yellow Line.
