Brisbane Lions Rally From 17 Points Down to Beat Fremantle for Third Straight AFL Title

The Brisbane Lions beat Fremantle 14.12 (96) to 12.17 (89) in the AFL Grand Final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on September 26, winning a third consecutive premiership. Fremantle, chasing its first-ever flag, led by 17 points with under five minutes left after Patrick Voss kicked his third goal. Brisbane then kicked the last four goals of the game, through Charlie Cameron, Zac Bailey and two in the final minute from Logan Morris, to win by seven points. The result equals the club's 2001-2003 three-peat. Fremantle's Shai Bolton won the Norm Smith Medal, the first winner from a losing side since Chris Judd in 2005.
