Mauritius Refuses Landing to Flight From Israel; Tour Operator Suspects Political Motive

Mauritian authorities refused to grant landing permission to an Air Seychelles flight from Israel to Mauritius, and the flight, due to depart on Saturday, was cancelled. Air Seychelles announced the cancellation after efforts during the night to secure approval failed. The Israeli tour operator Spirit Productions World said the flight had received all required approvals months earlier and that the information it received indicated a decision stemming from diplomatic-political considerations. Its CEO, Tali Yitiv, said the passengers had no connection to such decisions, and the company said it would contact them personally. The Maldives earlier announced it would bar Israeli passport holders over the Gaza war.
