China Lists Eight Outcomes of Xi's U.S. Visit, Including $30 Billion Reciprocal Tariff Cut

China's Foreign Ministry on September 26 published an eight-point list of outcomes from President Xi Jinping's September 23-25 state visit to the United States. The list says the two leaders endorsed their trade teams' results, including a trade council, a reciprocal tariff-reduction arrangement covering $30 billion and an extension of the Kuala Lumpur trade outcomes. It also sets up a China-U.S. dialogue on artificial intelligence, with the next round in November, and says Iran should honor its commitment not to develop nuclear weapons. A White House fact sheet describes the same $30 billion of non-sensitive goods in each direction and adds Chinese purchases of U.S. coal that Beijing's list omits.
